TEAM BAT LEADERS
Daniel Kish:
Dan is congenitally and totally blind, is
a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, and holds
two Master's Degrees, one in psychology, and one in special
education. He has appeared on national television using echo
location to navigate through obstacles while riding his bike.
Dan was instrumental in bringing the BAT project to life.
He trains blind individuals with traditional methods as well
as with echo location to enhance their perceptual skills. With
newcomers, Dan evaluates and consults with
each rider to determine perceptual functioning, instructional
ability, and fitness.

Brian serves as the TEAM BAT Project
Manager. He is in charge of furthering
TEAM BAT's growth and success. Having
lost his vision at age 14, he has
re-established and developed highly
competitive athletic and leadership qualities
in a short time. He rides with exceptional
form, and has especially fine bike handling skills.
Brian is an excellent role model and advises
and assists newer BATS.
